With a degree in Event Management and over 10 years of venue and catering experience, owner Chelsea brings extensive knowledge to the team.  She grew up in a big family, where there was always a birthday or cause for celebration. Her fondest memories growing up are of those special occasions; having a house full of family gathered to celebrate a milestone. Her passion for events is rooted here: in the meaning behind the occasion.

Four years ago Chelsea traded in city life for warmer weather, relocating from Hoboken, NJ to Raleigh. Before arriving in North Carolina, Chelsea worked for some of New York City’s most renowned Event groups including restaurateur Michael (Buzzy) O’Keefe and celebrity wedding planner Claudia Hanlin. In her experience she aided in producing large scale events for Martha Stewart, Montblanc, NYU, R.L. Stein, The Real Housewives of NJ, and a vast portfolio of corporate, social, and wedding clients. Chelsea served on the Board of International Live Events Association (ILEA) Raleigh-Durham chapter for two years, and received the President's Award for educational programs. She is also an active member of the National Association of Catering and Events (NACE) and received the Peer-Recognition Award for perseverance in 2021.

CHELSEA     
Owner + Managing Director

A Raleigh native, Abigail joined our team after interning for the venue. She's a recent North Carolina State graduate  (go pack!) with a degree in Communications. Prior to her role at The Maxwell, she completed an internship for Weddings Lookbook Magazine where her love for weddings and events blossomed. 

Abigail also spent time volunteering as a Team Leader for Young Life, working with youth and coordinating large scale events. She's inspired by popular wedding blogs and stays up to date with the latest trends.

Listening to a true crime podcast, visiting one of my favorite local coffee shops, or heading to the art museum with a charcuterie picnic!

ABIGAIL 
Sales + Marketing Coordinator

Our logistics master, Victoria enjoys putting together the details of every event we host!  Born and raised in North Carolina, she has over seven years combined restaurant and event management experience. Victoria received her Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management  from East Carolina University and is a member of the  Internationals Live Events Association, Raleigh Durham Chapter. She brings extensive beverage knowledge to our team and loves to find creative ways to personalize your event.  

When I’m not working, you can find me:
Checking out a new restaurant, cruising to a brewery in my jeep wrangler, or exploring a city I haven't been to yet! 

VICTORIA   
Venue Manager 

Tova entered the service industry in 2011, and has worked in various sectors including restaurants, catering, and wedding planning. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management with a concentration in Special Events from East Carolina University. 

While working at a venue in Greensville, North Carolina, Tova discovered her fondness of weddings and began planning and coordinating independently in 2017. Her favorite parts of a wedding are the thoughtful details that couples incorporate into their day. She enjoys getting to know our couples and brings that same intentionality and care into the weddings she coordinates.

 I loved the outdoor and indoor space as it was the perfect layout for pictures, guest to mingle, and space for guests to be distanced when needed.
